Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! to the Nursery Classes 2008-2009 as they were each presented with a medal of recognition by the SSPCA for their actions that saved the baby blue tits in the nursery bird box. The presentation was the first of its kind, as part of a new young persons award scheme that Scotland's animal welfare charity has launched, to recognise the valuable contribution that young people can make towards protecting the welfare of animals in Scotland. The charity hand-reared the abandoned baby blue tits and all 12 fledged and were successfully released back into the wild in June. Click link to find out more

A fantastic family day for all the families that supported this event. Some photos of the day can be found at 'site guide'.
If you could not make this event please give any donations to the school office. This is a fund raiser with all the money going towards making the school a better place for our children so please give generously.
Birds
Update:- Our baby blue tits are doing well, visit the link for a BBC News story about the baby birds....
They are also TV stars !!! A film crew was at the center on the day they arrived
and they want to record their progress. Hopefully the series hosted by
Michealla Strachan will be on Channel Five later this year. We will keep you posted.....
Unfortunately the parents of the 12 birds in the nesting box have disappeared and therefore the babies are no longer being fed. The SSPCA were called in and they have taken the birds away to give them the best chance of survival. Fingers crossed!
The next Parent Forum Meeting will be held on Monday 11TH jANUARY 2010 at 7pm in the school.
