        ECO Flag     

We achieved our ECO Flag in 2006 and are now working towards our third flag.  All the school is involved making our school an ECO school.  Our ECO committee (pupils, parents and staff) work hard to  keep our school improving with new ideas and current Eco thinking.  There have recycling facilities in the staff car park and the school receive money for recycling (per tonne).  Please click the link to see Dalmeny's Eco Schools Action Plan 2008-2009

 

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle at Dalmeny Primary School

Nowadays there are many things which are suitable for recycling. Here at Dalmeny we like to do our bit and help you do yours!!!! The children are encouraged  & try very hard to reduce, reuse & recycle.     Forest School 

We are a Forest School which means the children get the opportunity to spend time in Cock Hill (our local conservation area) learning and exporing in an outside enviroment. 

Health Promoting School

We have gained 'Stage One' accreditation as a Healthy School and we are working towards the final stage (stage 3) .  We continue to provide gym and physical activities, swimming and topics on healthy living.  We are trying hard to work on our individual health targets for pupils/staff and our Health Olympics.  Please help your children to achieve their targets. 

Swimming

Morning children have the chance to go to swimming lessons one morning per week throughout for the whole academic year.  Swimming lessons also are offered to all children P1-P7 in blocks of eight weeks.

 

Pupil Council

The Pupil Council is made up of pupils and staff. The pupils are elected by their class.  They are expected to put forward the views of their classmates to the staff and feedback information from the council meetings. There are 2 pupil representitives from each class.

Languages

The school offers lanuguage lessons from P1-P7, this year P1 - P4 will be learning Italian, P5 and P6 will be learning French and the P7 class will be learning German. This however will change in the next school year when P5 to P7 will learn French.  All pupils of the school can use a special language games site.  Please contact the school for the web address and password to this site.
